Brookgate has appointed Bidwells to seek a funding partner for its £105m office scheme at CB1, Cambridge’s new city quarter.

The mixed-use developer has launched 50 & 60 Station Road, which comprises 156,000 sq ft of Grade-A office space, on which work is expected to start in 2016 and complete in 2018.

Sven Töpel, chief executive of Brookgate, said: “Cambridge is a hugely vibrant economy and a high-growth market. We expect rents to hit £40 per sq ft in the next few years. This is the only site available to provide a building of this scale in this location.”

The Grimshaw-designed building will sit alongside a new public square, Accor Ibis Hotel, 3,000-space multi-storey cycle park, and the 125,000 sq ft One Station Square office, as well as restaurants, shops and homes.

The CB1 area is already home to global and UK companies including Microsoft, Deloitte, Thales and Apple.
