A start-up that plans to open the UK’s first pub for tea has appointed agents to source a London site for its venue.

Brew, which is backed by the owners of pizza chain Franco Manca, has appointed Metrus Property Advisors to lead the search after securing £300,000 in its first funding round on Crowdcube and from private investors.

It plans to open 20 branches across the country in six years. Brew will target sites in south and east London, including Balham, SW12; Brixton, SW2; Tooting, SW17; Borough High Street, SE1; Clapham, SW4; and Kennington, SE11.
