Focus reception: Word on the street
The Focus reception tour bus made its final stop in Glasgow last month at a favourite venue in the city, the 29 Club.
With Glasgow having forged ahead with speculative office development in the past couple of years, there was plenty to talk about in terms
of lettings achieved so far and rumours of those that may soon sign for completing buildings.
Being the Scottish retail capital and one of the top UK shopping destinations, there was also much discussion about retailer activity and what might happen next now that Land Securities’ Buchanan Galleries extension has been put on hold.
It might be good news for some other shopping streets, was the thinking.
As the beer and wine flowed, politics and the so-called “never-endum” became a hot topic, with much of the discussion centring on whether the uncertainty was putting off investors.
