John Caudwell, the billionaire founder of phone retailer Phones4U, has been granted permission to build his Mayfair mansion.
The proposal for the 14,300 sq ft home on a former parking lot on South Audley Street, W1, was approved by Westminster city council and is part of a wider scheme of 29 houses and flats.
More than half of the mansion will be underground and the scheme will also include a swimming pool, a gym, a business centre and a cinema.
