Grosvenor gets green light for Edinburgh scheme

Grosvenor-Fund-logo-THUMB.jpegGrosvenor has been given the go-ahead for a build-to-rent scheme in Fountainbridge, Edinburgh.

The City of Edinburgh Council granted planning permission for the mixed-use scheme in the former industrial district, with the potential for 400 homes, a new public square, offices and retail space.

The first phase of development at Springside is complete, comprising a mixture of 250 homes for sale, affordable homes for the elderly, serviced apartments and two student halls providing accommodation for more than 600 students.

David Yaldron, director of city centre developments at Grosvenor, said: “We welcome the City of Edinburgh’s forward-thinking decision in granting planning consent. Our project team has collaborated closely with local neighbourhood organisations and today’s decision marks an important and exciting step forward for the area’s wider regeneration.
