Hunter signs 3M at Exchange Quay

Hunter Real Estate Investment Managers has signed US online retailer 3M for 12,500 sq ft at its Exchange Quay office development in Salford Quays, Greater Manchester.

3M, which sells office products including Post-it notes, as well as industrial and healthcare products, has agreed a 10-year lease for the fourth floor in Number 8 at Exchange Quay.

Some 120 3M staff will relocate to Exchange Quay from Great Jackson Street in Castlefield.

The rent agreed with Hunter has not been disclosed, but quoted rents for the building are £17 per sq ft.

Hunter has recently completed a £10m investment programme in the 433,637 sq ft Exchange Quay scheme, upgrading six office buildings to grade A specification, extensively remodelling the whole public realm and introducing occupier facilities including a Costa Coffee outlet and Londis Retail Shop.

Canning O’Neill and Savills, which represent Hunter, secured 10 further deals in 2015 totalling nearly 60,000 sq ft to relocating and existing Exchange Quay occupiers including Beauty Bay, Bo-Concepts, Environmental Resources Management, Sage and GlaxoSmithkline.

Cushman & Wakefield advised 3M.
