US life insurer MetLife and the New York State Common Retirement Fund have formed a real estate joint venture with an initial investment portfolio valued in excess of $1.4bn.
MetLife sold a 49.9% stake in the property portfolio – comprising seven properties – to the fund. Its asset management unit will control the portfolio.
