600 acres of HCA land for sale

google-mapThe government has published details of 600 acres of public sector land controlled by the Homes and Communities Agency which will be sold to developers.

More than 80 sites have been put up for sale with a further 40 coming to the market over the next 18 months.

It is estimated that the land will make provisions for the delivery of more than 5,000 homes as well as land for industry and business.

More than 20% of the sites already put on the market have obtained outline or detailed planning permission.

Housing minister Brandon Lewis said: “I now want to see developers getting shovels in the ground as quick as possible and building the homes hard-working people want and deserve.”

HCA chief executive Andy Rose said: “We will use our commercial expertise and local market knowledge to make land attractive to housebuilders, to help get homes built more quickly and meet local priorities.”
