Barberry Developments and Coventry University have unveiled plans for a 1,116-bed student housing development in Coventry city centre.

The scheme includes five tower blocks rising to 17 storeys at the former Royal Mail sorting office at Bishop Gate.

The £73m development has been designed by architect Stride Treglown.

The site was once earmarked for a 400,000 sq ft retail-led mixed-use development before being redesigned as an 850-bed student housing scheme.
