Property consultancy Carter Jonas has appointed Alison Williams as associate partner to its South-West industrial team.

Williams joins from Kavanaghs, where she headed the commercial agency team.

She also spent eight years at Alder King expanding the firm’s industrial property service, during which time she achieved an Estates Gazette award for Deal Maker of the Year.

In a two-decade career in the industry, Williams has worked with public- and private-sector clients including Baker Tilly, Prudential, Thames Water and Defence Estates.

Philip Marshall, head of Carter Jonas’ Bath office, said: “Given the current strength of the property market in the South-West, now is an ideal time to expand our commercial team. Occupier demand in the South-West is outstripping supply and speculative development is increasing across the region.

“Our hub office in the South-West has grown dramatically over the past seven years and Alison’s breadth of experience in the commercial and industrial sectors is a valuable addition to our team.”

Williams said: “Over the last few years, the industrial sector has proved resilient and in 2016 it is predicted to be an outperforming asset class. Last year we saw a significant increase in transactions, in part driven by changes in the retail landscape, and there are currently a substantial number of industrial occupiers looking to grow their business.

“I look forward to working with, and growing, the existing team in the South West.”
