Eighty-eight per cent of office workers in London think that communal working and meeting areas are important features of an ideal office.
A poll of 1,048 office workers across the UK by British Land found that physical environment can influence a worker’s decision to take a job and how long they stay.
Results showed that London millennials are the least satisfied with their working environment.
Of this group, 84% of respondents said they wanted more outdoor areas and gardens, and 77% wanted to work in sustainable buildings.
Tim Roberts, head of offices at British Land, said: “There is significant potential for buildings to lift the performance of the people working within them, and in the current battle for talent this is more important than ever before.”
