Syzygy appoints Robinson
Syzygy Renewables has appointed Ellandi founder Mark Robinson as non-executive director. The company was founded in 2009 by former Ashtenne fund manager John Macdonald-Brown as an independent renewable energy consultancy. Robinson will remain the property director of Ellandi.
CLS’s Mortstedt to step down
Sten Mortstedt is to step down as CLS chairman. Henry Klotz will become chairman, while Mortstedt will remain as executive director. Mortstedt said: “The strength of the portfolio and the management team give me great comfort that now is the right time to hand over the chairmanship.”
Uzbeks in at Charlotte Street
An Uzbek restaurant will replace Spanish restaurant Fino at 33 Charlotte Street,
W1. The Hart Brothers has assigned the leasehold interest on the remainder of an existing 20-year lease, due to expire in September 2027, at a passing rent of £170,000 pa. The new operators will open as Samarkand.
Scots launch investment opps
The Scottish Property Alliance is to launch £7bn of property investment opportunities across the country. Kenneth Gibson, Scottish National Party MSP, said at this week’s Scottish Property Federation conference in Edinburgh that the “investment-ready” opportunities would be outlined at MIPIM on 17 March.
More towers for London
London will see a 38% rise in tower numbers, according to research from New London Architecture and GL Hearn. Using EGi data, the report reviewed activity for all buildings of 20 floors or more. Some 119 towers were proposed for London last year, taking the total number in the pipeline to 436.
