Credit Suisse has sublet more than 300,000 sq ft of office space at 5 Canada Square in London’s Canary Wharf to Thomson Reuters.
The deal is the largest of its kind this year, and comes as banks look to reduce their footprint in the capital. Credit Suisse itself announced plans last year to relocate jobs away from Canary Wharf to less expensive locations.
Thomson Reuters plans to move into the building gradually, completing the process in 2019. It is thought to be paying in excess of the £40 a square foot paid by Credit Suisse.
