Blackstone has promoted Christopher Heady to chairman of its Asia Pacific business.
Heady will also continue in his present role of head of Asia real estate.
He joined Blackstone in 2000 and has worked across teams in the US, Europe and most recently Asia. In his time in the region he has been the lead on approximately $3bn (£2.1bn) of deals across Australia, Japan, India and China.
Prior to working for Blackstone, Heady was with Morgan Stanley in London where he was with the real estate private equity team.
Blackstone has also promoted Jan Nielsen to chief operating officer for the region, and Daisuke Kitta to head of Japan.
The chairmanship of the Asia business had been vacant for two years following the return of Michael Chae to the US to become head of media and communication investments.
