JLL appoints structured debt guru

JLL-new-logo-2014-THUMB.jpegJLL has expanded its debt advisory business with the appointment of Ben Roger-Smith as head of structured products for EMEA.

His newly created role extends the capabilities of the JLL debt advisory team to cover structured finance deals for cross-border purchases and hedging.

Roger-Smith will report to Chris Holmes, lead director for EMEA debt advisory, who joined the business in 2013 to spearhead the debt business and fill a niche for clients of the agency that are seeking debt services for their purchases.

Roger-Smith will offer deal arrangement advice on multi-asset loan portfolio structures and multi-currency swap hedging.

Before joining JLL he was with Finn Square Capital, where he had been the senior adviser on structured real estate finance.

The hire is a part of JLL’s plan to become a full service advisory firm for real estate transactions and mirrors a similar service offered by Eastdil Secured.
