Argent, Urban & Civic and a partnership between Ask Real Estate, Patrizia and Carillion have been confirmed as the shortlisted bidders for the £750m Mayfield regeneration scheme in Manchester.
The Mayfield Partnership, comprising London and Continental Railways, Manchester City Council and Transport for Greater Manchester, is leading the procurement process for the 24-acre scheme next to Piccadilly Station.
The mixed-use scheme has the potential to deliver 800,000 sq ft of offices, 1,330 homes and 350 hotel bedrooms.
Plans will also include shops, hospitality, entertainment, car parking and a new city park centred along the River Medlock.
The preferred partner is due to be announced in summer 2016.
The development partner will acquire a 50% stake in the joint venture partnership, with the council, LCR and TfGM retaining the remaining interest.
LCR chief executive David Hoy said: “The chosen development partner will lead on masterplanning the site as well as high-quality place-making, through to delivery of the necessary infrastructure and the development itself.”
JLL is advising the partnership.
