BCSC’s chief executive steps down

BCSC-logo-THUMB.jpegJohn Coyne has stepped down as chief executive of BCSC only 10 months after taking up the position.

Edward Cooke, director of policy and public affairs, has been named acting chief executive with immediate effect.

Coyne was appointed to initiate BCSC’s new mission, Strategy 2020, which aimed to reposition the body as the main membership body representing the retail property sector.

BCSC said: “John Coyne has done excellent work in the creation and launch of Strategy 2020. As BCSC moves into the delivery of the plan, the organisation’s executive board has decided, with John, to look to another individual to lead the next phase. John has therefore left the organisation.

“BCSC thanks John for his work and for his valuable contribution during his time with the organisation.”

Brand consultancy Plum Brands has recently been appointed to rename and rebrand the organisation.
