Milton Keynes Development Partnership has selected Sterling Property Ventures to deliver Milton Keynes’ tallest high-rise development, on Midsummer Boulevard.
The developer plans to build a tower of between 20 and 30 storeys on the 1.5-acre site known as B3.3N.
The scheme will comprise 150,000-250,000 sq ft of offices, a 150- to 250-home PRS scheme and a skyline restaurant.
Sterling’s managing director James Howarth said: “We are very excited to be working with MKDP to deliver a scheme which will help Milton Keynes continue to expand as a key employment location, making the most of its communication links and status as the fastest growing city in the UK.”
The development is designed to attract both large corporates looking to relocate and local occupiers seeking new grade-A space.
This will be Sterling’s first project in Milton Keynes.
Its previous developments include 103 Colmore Row in Birmingham, a 26-storey office tower being developed in partnership with Rockspring.
Howarth said he hopes to submit a planning application by the end of the year, with the aim of starting work in late 2017.
Doone Silver Architects has been appointed lead architect to the tower.
