Plans by Sadiq Khan to name James Murray as his deputy mayor for housing have caused consternation among property developers.
Murray, who was Islington’s executive councillor for housing, is described as having a history of blocking developments that do not feature a high percentage of affordable and social housing.
Khan earlier this week reiterated his aim that 50% of all new homes in London be genuinely affordable.
