Gordon Ramsay eyes regions

Italian-food

Gordon Ramsay Group is plotting a return to the regions with new restaurants potentially opening in Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester.

The group, which has 29 restaurants, is expected to roll out its Bread Street Kitchen all-day dining concept more than a decade after it closed Amaryllis in Glasgow – the only UK restaurant Ramsay has opened outside London.

GRG operates 14 restaurants in London and holds the license for 15 more around the world, including in Hong Kong, Dubai, Singapore, France and the US.

Chief executive Stuart Gillies told The Times: “The UK is now very different and now we’re starting to look at areas from Birmingham to Manchester to Leeds. We’re starting to see those markets improve dramatically from a dining perspective.”

It comes after a period of retrenchment for the group and would be the group’s first UK opening for more than a year.
