Avison Young hires Capita trio
Avison Young has poached a trio of senior agents from Capita Real Estate to oversee its South East team.
Piers Leigh, Chris Barrs and Tom Bridgman will all become principals at the firm.
Crédit Agricole eyes E14 buy
Crédit Agricole is in advanced talks to take 150,000 sq ft at 25 Cabot Square, E14, as it nears the end of its search for a new London headquarters.
Hines Global REIT’s 450,000 sq ft building is currently occupied by Morgan Stanley, which sold the asset to Hines for £225m in 2014 with an agreement to lease back half of the space for 15 years and the other half for three years with an option to extend.
Savills appoints Gardiner
Savills has appointed Jon Gardiner as head of its national office agency, replacing Jeremy Bates, who will continue as head of national business space agency and occupier services as well as a UK executive board member.
Gardiner has worked on such high-profile schemes as Chiswick Park, W4; SEGRO’s Bath Road scheme in Slough, Berkshire; Ruskin Square in Croydon; and Station Hill in Reading.
Urban Splash posts profit rise
Tom Bloxham’s Urban Splash development company achieved pretax profits of £10.6m in the full year to the end of 30 September 2015, an increase of 39.5% on the previous reporting period.
Turnover was £25.1m, down 43.5% on the figure for the 15 months to 30 September 2014.
Cushnahan detained in probe
Northern Irish businessman Frank Cushnahan has been detained by the UK’s National Crime Squad as part of the fraud investigation into the National Asset Management Agency’s sale of Project Eagle.
Cushnahan, who had been an adviser to Nama, was detained alongside an unnamed individual.
