Artisan bakery Maison Kayser is opening its first UK property at British Land’s development at 10 Portman Square, W1.
The shop and restaurant cover 4,650 sq ft and front onto Baker Street. Maison Kayser will pay £235,000 pa for a 15-year lease.
The firm has bakeries around the world, including Paris, Tokyo, Seoul, New York and Mexico City. The shop will be its London flagship, and the chain aims to open two or three 2,500-3,500 sq ft bakeries a year in the capital. British Land has now fully let 10 Portman Square, which includes 113,000 sq ft of offices and 20,000 sq ft of retail.
Other tenants include Blüthner Pianos, Waitrose and Fired Earth. Nash Bond acted for British Land; DeVono Cresa represented Maison Kayser.
