The Office Group has bought the freehold of York House, a 42,000 sq ft office in King’s Cross, N1, from private overseas investors for around £30m.

The flexible office space provider, which acquired its first building in 2003, now has a 31-building London portfolio, as well as buildings in Leeds and Bristol. Of these, 13 are freehold.

The purchase of York House takes the group’s portfolio of workspace to more than 1.1m sq ft. The Office Group already has three buildings in King’s Cross including the 30,000 sq ft Stanley Building.

Charlie Green, co-chief executive, said: “Buying another freehold, particularly in King’s Cross, gives us the freedom to create something interesting and we’re hopeful we can add some extra space as well.”

The Office Group was advised by Montana Investments; Capita Real Estate represented the vendors.
