Eversheds confirms Notts move

water-court-nottinghamEversheds has confirmed it is to relocate its Nottingham operation to Marlborough Property Company’s Water Court building in the city.

As revealed in Estates Gazette, the law firm has agreed a lease on 19,000 sq ft in the building, located at 116-118 Canal Street. Terms were undisclosed, however quoting rents at Water Court are £18.50 per sq ft and Eversheds is likely to take a minimum of 10 years on its lease at the building.

The company will occupy the ground, first and second floors and the move will take place this autumn, once a fit-out of the building has been completed.

Mark Fletcher, Eversheds Nottingham office senior partner, said: “The work space at Water Court will allow us to support our commitment to both our employees and our clients by providing a bright and digitally-enabled environment that supports flexible working and an open space plan.”

Eversheds had also shortlisted Charles Street Building’s Canalside House at 6 Canal Street in the city centre. The relocation was prompted ahead of Eversheds’ lease expiry at its current offices on Standard Place in November.

Lambert Smith Hampton advised the landlord, while Knight Frank advised Eversheds.
