It’s all going south in this month’s EG London and no that isn’t a reference to the post-Brexit turmoil.
We take a look at ambitions for retail and leisure on the South Bank and office space in Deptford.
There is a tremendous amount of development going on around Waterloo – residential and offices – and this means space at ground level to service new residents and workers as well as the existing foot-flows of commuters who travel through Waterloo station.
Talking of which, Network Rail is redeveloping the old international terminal and the arches underneath the station with plans for a substantial amount of retail and leisure space.
Further east, Deptford has caught the developers’ eye and work is under way on various office schemes to cater for small tech and creative businesses, but there is a determination not to price local businesses out of the market, as has happened in Shoreditch.
