Japan’s Star Mica is looking at renting out some of the 2,500 apartments it owns in Tokyo to foreign visitors via services such as Airbnb, its president said.
The number of foreign visitors to Japan jumped by 46% last year, straining hotel capacity.
Star Mica has also acquired a stake in Squeeze, a supplier of services to landlords.
