Healthier options increase sales for Greggs

High street baker Greggs reported a 6% increase in sales in the six months ended 2 July, benefiting from the expansion of its product range to include more healthier options.

Pretax profit rose by 15.7%.

The company has closed 36 stores and opened 68 so far this year. It is targeting a total of 2,000 stores in the UK, compared with 1,730 currently.
