Cluttons elects Gray as managing partner

James GrayCluttons has elected head of project and building consultancy James Gray as managing partner.

With recently appointed senior partner Steven Morgan, Gray will steer the strategic direction of the agency, taking day-to-day responsibility for the business and individual teams.

Gray replaces John Wood, who had been managing partner for four years and will continue as head of corporate services. He led the business through its rebranding in 2014 and oversaw improvements in support teams and client services, alongside international expansion.

Gray said: “Cluttons has continued to grow internationally and in the UK in recent years. My ambition is to build on this with the partners and our excellent staff to continue to develop our business so that the service we provide is second to none.”

Gray joined Cluttons in 1998 and took over project and building consultancy in 2008. He previously spent seven years at Daniel Smith before it merged with Cluttons.

The agent’s project and building consultancy team will now be led by Paul Chilton.

Cluttons promoted Morgan, who was chief executive of the agent’s Middle East business, to senior partner in February. At 39, he is the youngest partner in the agency’s history.
