House prices rose in June, the month of the European Union referendum, figures from the Office for National Statistics showed.
On the year, prices increased by 8.7% or £17,000, accelerating from May’s upwardly revised 8.5% rise. Prices rose by 1% on the month.
Prices rose the most in the east of England. The northeast and the West Midlands, in contrast, recorded monthly falls, as did the London boroughs of Kensington and Chelsea and Hammersmith and Fulham.
