Homes near top state schools cost 17% more

Homes near top state schools can command an average premium of £53,426, according to a study of Land Registry data by Lloyds Bank.

The average price for a home near the 30 top-performing schools in England, at £366,744, is 17% above the average for the surrounding areas.

In some areas the premium can be much higher – properties close to Beaconsfield High School in Buckinghamshire average around £996,212 compared with an average for the county of £367,191.
