Confidence is returning to the housing market after a slump immediately after the Brexit vote, a monthly report by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors shows.
Surveyors are expecting house prices to rise in the next three months, the first time this has been the case since April. Over the next five years, house prices are forecast to rise 3.3% a year on average.
A net 12% of surveyors reported a rise in house prices rather than a fall in August, up from 5% in July. In London, however, the balance remained negative.
