Haringey Council has secured £62m in funding from the Greater London Authority to help bring forward the second phase of its housing zone.
The funding will be issued to help secure the delivery of homes across a range of regeneration projects in north Tottenham (pictured), including High Road West, the redevelopment of the housing estates around Tottenham Hotspur’s stadium.
Haringey said the funding will cover the significant infrastructure and land assembly costs associated with the scheme’s £45m from phase one of the GLA’s housing zone. Investment has already been committed to help finance plans.
Alan Strickland, Haringey Council cabinet member for housing, regeneration and planning, said: “This is another major milestone in the regeneration of this area and our 20-year vision to deliver at least 10,000 new homes and 5,000 new jobs in Tottenham in the next two decades.”
“This funding ensures work can start as quickly as possible on our plans to help thousands more local families have a chance to get on the housing ladder.”
/The High Road West development includes 1,400 homes, a £14m redevelopment of White Hart Lane station and new access to the nearby 600m White Hart Lane.
