Cushman & Wakefield’s purchase of DTZ paid dividends in EGi’s Newcastle office league table, where it easily took the top spot in the North East.
It was more than 30,000 sq ft ahead of number two, Knight Frank, and acted on two of the three largest deals of the year to July – 35,000 sq ft at the Rocket in the Stephenson Quarter to Convergys, and 15,155 sq ft of Central Square to Orchard Systems.
Further down the table there was more competition, as take-up dropped by a fifth to 269,126 sq ft, and deal numbers fell by 28% to 67.
Bilfinger GVA slipped from second to fourth and BNP Paribas Real Estate to seventh, while LSH, Gavin Black and Partners and Naylors all held their positions.
