Danish billionaire Anders Holch Povlsen has boosted his holdings of Scottish land to more than 200,000 acres after adding two estates in Sutherland to his property portfolio.
Povlsen paid around £6m for the Strathmore Estate at Altnaharra, and a further £2m for the Polla Estate near Durness.
His holdings make Povlsen the second largest landowner in Scotland, behind the Duke of Buccleuch with 240,000 acres. The latter has said he is looking to reduce the size of his estate.
