The prime minister’s Brexit and immigration policies risk closing the door on an open economy, the director-general of the CBI, Carolyn Fairbairn, cautioned.
She also warned of the real cost to jobs and communities if the government failed to work together with business.
The comments came as the government said it would not now name and shame companies that were heavily reliant on foreign workers.
