Nissan has announced it will build two new models of cars at its Sunderland plant.
The Japanese company said it made the decision following the UK government’s commitment to ensuring the plant remained competitive. The PM’s spokesman said the dialogue with Nissan was a reassurance the government would get the best possible deal for the British industrial sector.
Toyota also said it planned to continue its operations in the UK.
