Balmoral International has received outline planning permission on a site previously earmarked for industrial use for a development of 336 homes, 5,382 sq ft of shops and community space in Bexley, south-east London.
The development, near Erith town centre, will have a variety of homes from one-bedroom flats to four-bedroom houses, with 25% affordable.
Bexley Council had classed the site as a strategic industrial location in the London Plan, but, with the GLA, released it from that use for residential.
Guy Thorley, development director at Balmoral International, said: “We are pleased to have secured outline planning permission for the residential-led redevelopment of this long term vacant site. It represents a good example of positive collaboration with a proactive planning authority that is able to see the strategic benefits of this redevelopment.”
Turley advised on planning.
