Norris to head Hogan Lovells’ UK real estate team

hogan-lovellsHogan Lovells has appointed partner Daniel Norris as its new UK real estate head.

Norris takes over from Michael Gallimore in January when the latter becomes the head of the company’s legal services centre in Birmingham.

Norris worked on GE’s sale of its real estate business to Blackstone, Birmingham’s Snowhill 2 and Snowhill 3, Spinningfields in Manchester and St James’s Market, SW1.

Claire Dutch will take over Gallimore’s role as UK planning head in January.

Dutch has worked on development and infrastructure projects including Bishopsgate Goodsyard, E1, key sites within Nine Elms Opportunity Area, SW8, and several energy developments.

Gallimore will continue to work for his planning clients in collaboration with the rest of the UK planning team.

Norris said: “Despite uncertainty caused by Brexit, the fundamentals of UK commercial real estate should remain positive in 2017. London and the wider UK market remain key locations, for both onshore and offshore investors, and we are seeing strong activity levels.

“I am looking forward to taking over from Michael in the new year and building on our sector and practice strength.”
