Lidl buys 44 acres at Logistics North

lidl-signHarworth Group has sold 43.7 acres at its Logistics North development in Bolton to Lidl UK for £22.5m.

Lidl plans to build a new distribution facility on the site, which has outline planning consent for 4m sq ft of commercial space. A detailed planning application is expected to be submitted later this year.

The deal is the sixth at Logistics North in the past three years, following freehold land sales to Aldi, MBDA, Joy Global and Exeter Property Group. Harworth has also agreed a forward funding deal wth M&G to build two sheds totalling 400,000 sq ft.

Phil Wilson, managing director of capital growth at Harworth Group, said: “Our extensive work in both remediating the site and masterplanning it for employment uses continues to yield results for both Harworth and the site’s occupiers.”
