Grainger has welcomed the government’s housing white paper released yesterday as representing a “significant shift in focus… toward a broader, more holistic approach, which moves away from primarily focusing on home ownership”.
The government emphasis on homes to rent chimes with Grainger’s PRS drive. Chief executive Helen Gordon said: “We have seen positive progress on lettings and rental growth, and we are making good progress in developing our secured PRS build-to-rent schemes, a market where we see strong potential for growth. We continue to be very active on the PRS acquisitions front and are appraising, reviewing and moving forward with a number of exciting opportunities.”
The company reported like-for-like rental growth of 3.4% for the year to date and annualised rental growth of 4.2%. It has a total sales pipeline of £83m and has so far completed sales of £49m.
