London house prices rose by the smallest percentage in nearly four years in January, climbing 6.4% on the year, the Hometrack index of price rises across 20 cities shows.
That was the smallest increase since June 2013, and ranked the capital in eighth place. Bristol took top spot, with prices there up 9.5%. It was followed by Oxford and Manchester, with rises of 9.2% and 8.3%, respectively.
House prices in London are expected to be flat this year.
