Connectivity ratings firm WiredScore launches in France today, the group’s first foray into Europe
The firm’s Paris-based office will be headed by Silicon Valley tech star Tamara Brisk who has relocated from San Francisco where she previously headed sales at software start-up Front Row.
With over 43 million sq ft of space in the greater Paris area – including The Cloud, Facebook’s Paris HQ – already Wired Certified ahead of today’s launch, Brisk said that her team would remain focussed on the capital for the next few months.
“The greater Paris region represents the biggest office market in Europe so we will be focussing our attention here first, then we will look at other cities such as Lyon, Lille and Marseille.
“By the end of this year we will have certified 100 buildings in this region and I am actually aiming for 150.”
WiredScore was initially launched in New York in 2013 as part of a programme lead by Mayor Michael Bloomberg. It launched in the UK in October 2015, where it is headed by former Cushman & Wakefield surveyor Tom Redmayne and former policy advisor William Newton. There are now around 200 Wired Certified buildings across the UK and around 900 in the States.
Following the opening of the French office the firm is set to move into the German market later this year.
