Parents are paying more than £50,000 to buy homes within catchment areas for outstanding schools, according to a survey of one million homes in England by Rightmove.
In London, the premium is even higher, with parents willing to pay an extra £80,000.
Outside of London, the difference to move from areas where schools need improvement is highest in the West Midlands, at £52,919, and lowest in the East Midlands, at £23,325.
