Crosslane Student Developments has secured planning for a 583-bed student accommodation scheme in Coventry.
The site, near Coventry city centre, is scheduled to complete in time for the 2019-20 academic year and will include 140 studios and 445 ensuite flats.
Crosslane said that as Coventry University is the fastest-growing university in the UK, student applications and demand for purpose-built accommodation will likely keep growing.
Mike Moran, development manager at Crosslane, said: “Crosslane has secured planning consent for our first student accommodation development in Coventry following engagement with the local planning authority on the design and a public consultation.
“At 583 beds, the scheme will be a significant contribution to shortening the supply/demand gap that persists for purpose-built student accommodation in the city.”
Last week Crosslane secured conditional planning consent for a 117-bed, purpose-built student accommodation development in Leeds.
