Lord’s cricket ground could get 97 flats

A green paper detailing plans to build apartments at Lord’s cricket ground is to be sent to the club’s members for approval this week.

Developer Rifkind Associates will pay £15m to the club’s members – the equivalent of two years subscriptions – to compensate for the disruption caused by the construction of two 10-storey residential blocks comprising a total of 97 flats. There would also be £135m to rebuild stands.

A second option would see the club fund the rebuild of the ground through its own resources.
