Santo Remedio to open in London Bridge

Santo Remedio, the Mexican-style “cantina” that was forced to close its Shoreditch site after just five months of business, is reopening in London Bridge.

The restaurant will open at the site of the former Magdalen restaurant at 152 Tooley Street, after a Kickstarter campaign to fund fitting out the new site.

Santo Remedio has taken 2,882 sq ft. The property is held on a lease with 14 years remaining and a passing rent of £63,000 pa.

Before opening Santo Remedio, co-founder Edson Diaz-Fuentes had been head of menu innovation at Mexican group Wahaca, working closely with co-founders Thomasina Miers and Mark Selby.

Davis Coffer Lyons advised on the deal.
