Derby City Council has put the city’s former cattle market up for sale.
The council is looking for a commercial use for the 11.5-acre site (pictured) on Chequers Road, one mile from the city centre, and has appointed Cushman & Wakefield to find a buyer.
Derby City Council took the decision last year to close and dispose of the unprofitable facility.
Gemma Constantinou from Cushman & Wakefield’s industrial agency team said: “The site, which is suitable for industrial, office, leisure and mixed use, is in a key strategic location and could transform the gateway to Derby.”
