WEEKEND PAPERS: The redevelopment of Liverpool’s waterfront could cost the city its Unesco World Heritage status.
Plans for the £5.5bn Liverpool Waters scheme went through in 2012, despite warnings from Historic England that the waterfront setting would be severely compromised.
Unesco added the city to its list of heritage sites in danger following the decision; the city could lose it World Heritage status as early as next year.
