Capital & Centric has launched a mentoring programme designed to inspire young people from varied backgrounds to start a career in regeneration.
The Manchester-based developer this week started Regeneration Brainery, a five-day programme of site tours, workshops, and talks from some of the most successful property figures in the North West.
Mentors include Urban Splash co-founder Tom Bloxham, OBI Property director Will Lewis, Manchester Airport Group property chief executive Lynda Shillaw and Greater Manchester Combined Authority chief executive Eamonn Boylan.
The first summer academy has offered a free programme to 20 future regeneration professionals aged 17 to 20 from across the North West.
The programme, taking place in Manchester city centre, offers participants a valuable insight into the regeneration sector, including architecture, interior design, planning and marketing.
Designed to be fun and dynamic, Capital & Centric hopes to help participants develop valuable experience and contacts to include on their CVs and university applications.
Capital & Centric co-founder Tim Heatley said: “Most people in property tend to start out because they know someone in property. We hope this programme will help young people who wouldn’t necessarily know about jobs in regeneration make that first connection to help start their career.
“We need talent at all levels and skills to come into the property world, and hearing from some of the big names will hopefully inspire them.”
Capital & Centric co-founders Tim Heatley and Adam Higgins are speaking at EG’s Not Just Another Property Event on 13 September in London.
Attendance is free. Secure your place here.
