M7 explores £300m REIT flotation

M7 has hired bankers to explore the £300m flotation of a new REIT focused on multi-let regional offices and industrial property.

The company confirmed today that it had appointed Barclays and Akur Capital to look at launching the listed vehicle, which could have an initial public offering on the London Stock Exchange as soon as the third quarter of 2017.

The company will likely be seeded with assets from M7’s existing €4.1bn (£3.7bn) portfolio, although a spokesman declined to comment on which assets they would be.

The portfolio will comprise industrial and logistics properties, some of which will be in urban locations, as well as some offices, making the company income-producing from the start.

The company said: “We can confirm that we have appointed Barclays and Akur Capital to consider a number of strategic initiatives, including a possible IPO, but it is too early to comment further at this stage.”

M7 manages more than 800 retail, office and industrial properties across Europe on behalf of private equity clients such as Blackstone, Oaktree and Starwood.
